It is situated in the southern part of the Cyprus between Limassol and Larnaca and it is especially the industrial port handling unpacked as well as troublesome cargo.
Maximum length of ship which can berth is 145m of 8,6m draught.
There are two quays, the northern of 360m length and the western of 125m. It has turning circle of 280m diameter and the water depth is 9m.
The port belongs to the Ports Authority which leased it to Vassiliko Cement Works. The Lease Agreement covers a period of 50 years, from 1.1.1984 to 31.12.2033 and concerns all kinds of cargo (imports-exports) for the needs of the Cement Works as well as private cargo of other companies who were granted a license by the Ports Authority.
The kind of cargoes which move through Vassiliko Port are animal fodder, wheat, coal, perlite, cement, soil, gravel, scrab iron. The primary export cargo is cement with 350.000 tons.
